Wouldn't have missed it for the world...

Today was gloomy, rainy, cold, Ricky was sick, we found out the Pathfinder needed a new radiator, but ... it was one of the best days ever.

Ricky and I had the whole day to ourselves. It started with our 12 week doctor appointment. We arrived at 9:30 as scheduled, and sat impatiently in the waiting room. As we sat there watching the minutes tick our patience grew thinner. I told Ricky that next time he didn't have to come if he didn't want to. He said okay. (lol)
We were finally called back.
The doctor put the magic wand to my tummy and we were able to see much more than our tiny bean a few weeks before. He showed us the little head the nose the mouth the eyes the hands which were up in front of it's face and it's legs which were to tiny and sweet. Then all the sudden the baby started kicking. It's arms and legs were moving all around, we sat in awe watching our little athlete. It even flipped on its side and was arching it's little back. I couldn't help but let a few tears roll down my cheak. Ricky too was amazed.
I had been telling him how big our baby was getting from the weekly updates I get but I guess he didn't believe me, because after we left the office he was still in shock.
All of our complaining all of the waiting was so worth it.
As we left he turned to me and said that he felt like nothing else really mattered. and that he wouldn't have missed it for the world!

The most wonderful time of the year?

What a month it's been. I love this time of year and for the most part it has been great. Ricky and I got our tree up the first week of December. I had a cookie baking afternoon with some of my close girlfriends, we've had many fun get togethers with family and friends. We even got our Christmas cards out early!

It all started the weekend of the 9th and 10th. We decided to go to Vegas to watch my little brother rope. We drove up on Friday morning. We were able to watch him rope then go to dinner with Logan, Dad and Renee. Later that evening Emily and Tim and Josh and Nikki met us on the strip. It was great to see them and catch up.
The next morning Saturday we were pulling out of the parking garage when my driver... no names, backed the front end of my car into a pillar! What an awful noise. The rest of our day was a bit solemn.

The day passed as we tried not to think of my clef lipped Acura. Sunday morning we were more than ready to get out of town. But the "party" had just begun! Our brakes went out.
Tuesday I take my car to the shop. As I'm driving there Ricky calls me to let me know his car just died on him.

To make a long, probably kinda boring, story short...

Brittany had friend w/ AAA toe Ricky and car to shop.
Shop tells Ricky, $275
Boys at work tell Ricky, You Fix Yourself
Ricky and Brittany make it home, carless
Ricky and Brittany both find rides to work
Brittany picks up car, $560 later
Ricky  tries fixing car..... bad idea
Ricky drives a mile, car dies again
Toe Truck... $100
Brake Masters quote for Ricky, $780
Moral of story
Don't go to Vegas!

In the midst of all this car craziness my manager of 2 years announced he would be stepping down. Because of the changes at UOP they couldn't hire a new one so they split us and sent us to new teams. It was a very bitter sweet move. I've grown to love many of these people, some I've been working with for about 4 years now. Though I'll still get to see many of them daily, it will not be the same. Looking at this positively, I'm excited to meet new people, to be under new, more tenured management and I look forward to seeing what will happen in my future. I am also starting school again in January!

Team Christmas Party

All in all we're alive. Our cars run and we had a very Merry Christmas.
We drove to Snowflake Thursday night to spend some time with Dad and Renee. Friday we went to Heber and made tamales with Grandma Lynette. I think we mad over 200 tamales. We even put the boys to work. Ofcourse we expected a lot from Ricky, being hispanic and all, luckily he didn't let us down. Logan tried teaching us all spanish and we came up with some pretty crazy baby names.. our favorite being a mixture of Dana, my mom and Sandra, Ricky's mom. Ready for this one... DANDRA. Isn't it just beautiful? lol

That night we played games at my mom's house and opened our new pajamas. Christmas morning we opened gifts ate a yummy breakfast then drove to Tucson. Christmas with the Francos was also great. We had a gift exchange and a game of White Elephant, more laughing, reminiscing and lots of movie watching.

Baby updates: I've still been feeling great, except for the occasional tummy ache in the evenings. Nothing that keeps me from eating my favorite dinner or has be doubled over the toilet. I am still counting myself lucky. We have our second doctor appointment on Wednesday. I can't wait to see the changes in my little baby.

I hope everyone had a Wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to a Happy 2011!

It's on the fridge!

That means... it's official! We're pregnant, and only once, Whew!
Our first appointment was today. It went great... Ricky the guy that won't even let me say period survived. He told me he's probably going to pass out during child birth. Good thing he has till JULY 11th to get ready.

I'm still in disbelief, I think that's what it is. Especially since I've been feeling great. I have been more tired, I go to the bathroom all the time, my hunger feels equivalent to that of a teenage boy, but other than that I'm good, and counting myself lucky. I know this probably won't last too long... so I'm still bracing myself for the worst, and ofcourse praying and hoping for the best!

Like a Cholo...

Ricky and I have always talked about wanting kids, of course we wanted to take some time for ourselves, travel, save up some money, pay off credit cards, possibly buy a house, and work on our side business before getting pregnant... that plan didn't last too long. Last month we decided we'd temp fate a bit. We gave it one chance to "work." What can I say, my husband is not only handsome but functional. haha
I had been feeling way to good these past few weeks. I had discounted the slight chance I had of being pregnant and was happy with trying again. I was eager for the time of the month to come so we could get the process rolling and was a bit irritated that it was taking so long. Finally, on Thursday afternoon I decided to take the test I'd been saving for next month. In my head I was anticipating the negative pink line but secretly hoping for a double positive response. Sure enough... it lit right up.
I hope no one is disgusted that I posted a picture of something I peed on! (It's edited) lol
So hopefully all goes as planned. We're both so excited, a little shocked, not scared, it's not real enough yet. I'll try and keep my posts frequent! (per Emily's request). :)
Love you all, thank you for your best wishes and support... I'm sure we're going to need it!

Happy Halloween my Hansome Husband

This week I asked Ricky to go costume shopping with me. He politely declined. ;)... and so, this is what he got.
"The good news is babe, you get a sword!" haha
That night we went to a party with some of our valley friends. It was a blast! Thanks Nicole and Ryan. Saturday night we had another party to go to. We both felt like mixing it up a bit. Ricky was now willing to go shopping with me. With Ricky's knowledge gained on the mission, and a few small purchases were were able to throw THIS together.

Oh my my my....

Last weekend Ricky and I went and saw the movie Social Network. If you haven't seen it, yes I would recomend it, but not if you'd like to feel smart. As the main character precedes to crack codes and hack computers building programs in minutes and writing new codes I could help but think how incredibly computer incompitient I am! This evening has only validated my frusteration!
I just want my blog to be cute! Is that too much to ask? haha

I'll figure it out eventually...

Today I have two things on my mind.
Babies and Books  oh yeah and ACN... but that never goes away.

Babies because Brooke, my co-worker and now dear friend delivered her beautiful baby girl yesterday. I was able to visit her in the hospital and am still in awe and what an amazing woman she is. Everything went great. She is now in another world. A world where it's okay to stare at her child for hours on end, a world where morning traffic is no longer a concern, a world where Hadlie is the only thing that matters right now. She is in love.  I'm so so so incredibly happy for her and yes... maybe a bit envious.

Books. Well one book. "There's a Hole in Left Field" By: Brittany Rogers
some of you know I wrote a children's book a little over a year ago.
I've always wanted to have a book published and I've never known how to go about it. I spoke with a publisher last week and found out, like any other adventure in life... it requires money!
So I shall start saving.
The good news is, I didn't think I'd be able to do my illistrations. However with this company it will save me lots of money by illistrating myself. I'm so excited. I need to finish this. I'm the worst and not finishing things. It's so awful.
So hold me accountable, anyone who reads this.
Thank you.... and good night baby Hadlie, welcome to your pretty world.

p/s Maybe she was playing with my future babies up there in heaven. Did you tell them I can't wait to be their mommy?
